Virtual Mentoring - AI - Unlocking the Value of Your Data

Join us for a dynamic session of Group Mentoring ‎- where affiliates will be able to connect in groups with senior leaders across government and Private Industry in order to gain new perspectives on a wide range of leadership topics. Bring your most burning questions and connect with your colleagues!

How it works: This is a one-hour mentoring session. Your group will start off with your first mentor. Then, every thirty minutes,  your mentor will leave and a new mentor will join you. These mentors will share their‎ best practices and insights on an array of relevant topics for today's workplace.

Take notes, as this discussion will reveal years of experienced insight.

Meet the Mentors

Suzanne Monette, A/Director, Enterprise and Information Services,  SSC

Suzanne Monette is the Director of the Enterprise and Information Management Division at Shared Services Canada (SSC). A leader and former recipient of the Provincial Records Management Award from the Information and Records Management Association. She graduated with honours from Camosun College in Victoria, BC in the Records Management program and Algonquin College in the Technology Developer Program.

 Throughout her 16 years in the Federal Government she has witnessed and contributed to the evolution of IM from paper records management to the now Digital Information Management era which expands to information, data governance and data management.   Her accomplishments that she’s especially proud of include the successful implementation an SSC Data Analytics Centre of Excellence, implementing SSC’s Data Strategy, and the development of our next generation Data Analytics tools platform within the cloud.

 


Sylvain Bélanger, Senior General, Digital Services Sector at Library and Archives Canada

Sylvain Bélanger is Senior Director General, Digital Services Sector at Library and Archives Canada. In this role Sylvain is responsible for leading all of LAC’s information technology and digital business operations, including all aspects of digital  collections management. Sylvain is also lead for LAC’s digital transformation activities, which includes development of a new LAC Vision to 2030. Prior to this, Sylvain had been Director of the Holdings Management Division, and previously Corporate Secretary and Chief of Staff for Library and Archives Canada.

Sylvain is Treasurer of the International Internet Preservation Consortium, Treasurer of the Association of Public Sector Information Professional in Canada, and member of the IFLA on Information Technology Section.

Sylvain holds degrees in Political Science and Economics, and a Masters of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University. He has completed the Executive Coaching program at the Royal Roads University Centre for Advanced Management and received the Certified Executive Coach (CEC) designation, as well as the University of Windsor Law School Executive Certificate in Conflict Management. He also recently completed the University of Ottawa’s Chief Information Officer Program.
