How to use Open Source to collaborate and accelerate the Digital Innovation for Cities

Governments on all levels have tons of legacy systems that need to be replaced or find ways to interoperate with new ones. The new age of Smart Cities and edge technologies bring us a great opportunity to think differently and try to take advantage of the digital innovation era. In this talk, Bianca Tomazeli will share how Montreal and many cities in Canada are working with Open Source to achieve this goal. Where are the challenges? How did the city of Montreal benefit from using Open Source and creating an Open Source Policy? She will also bring up for discussion an initiative envisioned by the Government of Canada to support cities across the country in collaborating on developing digital tools to solve common problems using Open Source. Join us to see how Open Source can be a great asset to help cities accelerate their digital innovation process.

H2H (Human-to-Human); the competitive edge of the techno era

We are in the era of diversity and of digital communications. The worldwide business arena is more competitive than ever.

As an IM/IT practitioner in the public service, you are not using a B2B (Business-to-Business) or a B2C (Business-to-Consumer) service cycle. Based on your leadership, your organizational and technical skills, you are the heart of a H2H, Human-to-Human, service cycle.

Master the people skills that are necessary for success at work by joining Julie Blais Comeau, Canada’s go-to etiquette expert, to discover the secrets of the H2H service approach.

By the end of this interactive conference, participants will:

  1. Understand the H2H (Human-to-Human) service approach
  2. Know how to adapt their communications to colleagues, clients and suppliers
  3. Learn the G.L.A.D.L.Y service cycle to satisfy the dissatisfied
