Fellows

The award of Fellow of the Association of Public Sector Information Professionals recognizes those individuals who have significantly contributed to the advancement of IM/IT in the public sector through service to the Association. Service to the Association can be defined as supporting the Association in any manner such as, but not limited to: advocating for the Association, providing continuous and significant sponsorship in support of the Association’s activities, participating as a member of the Association’s committees, etc.)

Eligibility
Open to all.

Frequency
The award is given once per year at the Gala Dinner during Professional Development Week. If no suitable candidate(s) is found, the award may not be granted for a specific year.

Normally, one award will be granted each year. In exceptional circumstances, more than one award may be granted.

Nominations
Nominations should be submitted to info@dpi-canada.com) between January 1st and March 1st of each year.

Judging Panel
The President of the Association is responsible for identifying the award recipient each year. This will be carried out by convening a small panel of judges, typically the Executive, to review the nominations. The panel will select the best nomination and the President will present the award at the Gala Dinner during Professional Development Week.

Selection Criteria
The judging panel will consider the following criteria to select a recipient:

  • General acknowledgement as having reached a pinnacle of their profession
  • Impact of advocacy for the Association
  • Commitment to participation on committees, at breakfast seminars, during Professional Development Week, etc.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity and respect.
  • Demonstrated, over an extended period of time a significant contribution to the IM/IT community.
