Keynote - AI Deep Fakes & AI Fraud Prevention: Unmasking Deception in the Cyber World

Kathy Macdonald | Fraud Prevention and Cyber Security Expert  

Kathy Macdonald is a retired police officer turned global cybercrime prevention advocate. Her keynote presentations share firsthand experiences that unveil the complexities of cybercrime, and her passion and expertise in cyber security make her a powerhouse in the field. Kathy enlightens audiences with important information about the risk of social engineering, online fraud, sexual exploitation and coercion, and emerging security threats involving the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).  

Born and raised in Alberta, Kathy Macdonald is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. She has been honoured with the Member of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces, a national acclaim recognizing her commitment to community service and global advocacy for cyber security. Kathy has also been named a Top 20 Women in Cyber Security by IT World Canada.

Po Tea-Duncan, Chief Information Security Officer of the Government of Canada, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS)

Po Tea-Duncan is the Chief Information Security Officer of the Government of Canada within Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS)’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Po has over 20 years of experience in the federal government. She currently leads the teams enabling the delivery of secure and reliable government services through the GC’s digital identity program, enterprise security architecture, security strategy and policy development, and GC Cyber Security Event Management. In 2020, she was named as one of the Top Women in Cyber Security in Canada. In 2022, she was featured in The Female Quotient and Deloitte's 25 Women in Cyber campaign. Po was also recognized as an 2024 Women in Defence & Security (WiDS) Emerging Leader. Prior to joining TBS, Po served in a variety of roles at Global Affairs Canada in the areas of systems security engineering, architecture, and incident management.
